Governing Body
On behalf of my colleagues on the Governing Body, I am pleased to welcome you to Aintree Davenhill School’s blogsite; I hope you find it interesting, informative and enjoyable.
Aintree Davenhill School is a relatively large, primary school in the Parish of Aintree Village in the local authority area of Sefton. Although the Parish is our first catchment area, we normally always have places for children from neighbouring areas; so even though you may live in neighbouring Liverpool and Knowsley, your child can still come to Aintree Davenhill School.
Do please contact our Head, Mrs K Coyle, to make an appointment to meet her and to hear about the good education, added value and extra-curricula activities we provide for our children. You will enjoy your tour of the school and the facilities we have for our children.
Our teaching and support staff and the school’s Governors, are dedicated to the school’s success and we always have in mind our school motto of “Excellence and Enjoyment”.
The Governing Body comprises:
• six parent governors
• four staff governors
• four local authority governors
• four community governors
As Governors, our primary focus is to enable and support the Head in our shared goal of providing the best education possible for our children at Aintree Davenhill School. We do this through meetings of the Governing Body, its committees and the formal and informal visits made to the school when we have an opportunity to talk to the children, staff and Head.
The Governing Body meets at least once a term to discuss current issues, future plans and to determine policy. It also considers minutes and recommendations from the three main committees of:
• Curriculum
• Finance and Estates
• Staffing
These committees have the opportunity to discuss and consider ideas, proposals and plans to enhance and improve the school.
